Located in Historic Old Town Florence at 1st and Harbor Streets, the Port of Siuslaw boat ramp provides direct access to the lower Siuslaw River, just 4.7 river miles from the Pacific Ocean. This is an excellent launch point for kayakers and canoeists exploring the lower river valley, as well as for boaters heading to prime fishing and crabbing grounds. The facility includes recreational and commercial marinas alongside the ramp, offering amenities typical of an active working waterfront.
Paddlers should note that the Siuslaw River in this section features tidal influence due to its proximity to the ocean, which affects water levels and current conditions. The area provides access to river clam beds and supports diverse sport fishing opportunities for crab, salmon, sturgeon, and other species. Several campgrounds are available within 10 miles, including the Port of Siuslaw RV Campground right on-site, making it convenient for multi-day paddling trips. Recreation passes may be accepted as payment for facility use.
