Located in Pateros where the Methow River meets the Columbia River, this WDFW boat ramp provides convenient access to the lower Methow River. The site serves as an ideal launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters looking to explore this scenic river system. A Washington State Discover Pass is required ($10/day or $30/year). The ramp offers access to both the Methow River and nearby Rufus Woods Lake, expanding recreational opportunities in the area.
The Methow River is known for its excellent conditions for both flat-water and whitewater paddling, making it suitable for various skill levels. The river corridor features relatively pristine habitat within national forests and wilderness areas, offering striking scenery throughout your journey. Paddlers should note that the river is popular for fishing, particularly for wild rainbow and cutthroat trout, as well as seasonal steelhead runs in fall and winter months. The lower estuary section near this access point is especially known for productive steelhead fishing during late fall and winter.
Before launching, check current WDFW regulations and seasonal announcements, as fishing seasons are subject to emergency regulations that may affect river conditions or access. This access point is well-suited for both day trips and longer paddles, with multiple put-in and take-out options available along the Methow River system.
