The Tenino Boat Ramp provides access to the Deschutes River below Wickiup Reservoir in the Cascade Mountains. This is a popular launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters looking to explore the lower Deschutes. The ramp is located within Deschutes National Forest, offering access to scenic river paddling in a mountain setting.
**Important Access Information:** The Lower Deschutes River Segment 1 (which includes this area) operates under a limited entry system from May 15 - September 15, with access restricted to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during peak season. Paddlers should check current regulations and obtain required permits before planning trips during these dates. Outside of the restricted period, the site may offer more flexible access.
Several campgrounds are located within 10 miles of the ramp, including Fall River, Gull Point, and Crane Prairie Campgrounds (all reservable), making it convenient for multi-day paddling trips. Nearby Crane Prairie and Wickiup Reservoirs also offer alternative recreation opportunities in the area. Check water levels and flow conditions before your visit, as the Deschutes can have variable conditions depending on dam releases and seasonal runoff.
