About This Access Site
Veteran's Memorial Park offers convenient public boat access to Lake Ewauna and the Link River in downtown Klamath Falls. Located where US Route 97 crosses the Link River at the southern end of downtown, this park provides a well-positioned launch point for exploring the northernmost section of the Klamath River system. The ramp provides direct access to Lake Ewauna, the largest freshwater lake west of the Rockies at nearly 30 miles long and up to 8 miles wide.

This is an ideal access point for kayakers and canoeists looking to paddle the expansive waters of Lake Ewauna or explore the scenic Link River corridor. The downtown location makes it easily accessible from the city, and the memorial park setting offers a pleasant atmosphere. Paddlers should be aware of the lake's size and variable wind conditions typical of larger open waters, and plan accordingly for their experience level and desired route.
