Description
Devil's Gate is a technical and consequential Class V rapid in a steep, confined gorge with minimal margin for error. The rapid features a complex series of powerful hydraulics, sharp boulder gardens, and a mandatory line through a narrow, slide-like constriction that requires precise boat positioning and immediate, decisive maneuvering. Paddlers must be prepared for significant consequences, including potential pin and entrapment hazards, and should scout thoroughly or portage if skill level is uncertain.
