Description
The Fish Hatchery Weir is a critical lowhead dam hazard that poses extreme danger to paddlers on the Klickitat River. Paddlers must absolutely avoid this structure and portage well away from the dam, as lowhead dams create a deadly hydraulic recirculation zone that can trap and drown even experienced boaters. Strict caution and complete avoidance are mandatory for safe passage through this section of the river.
