The Lowhead Box Dam on the Reedy River creates a dangerous hydraulic that can trap and recirculate boats and swimmers, making it a critical portage point for paddlers. At certain water levels, the dam features a potential boof opportunity on river right, but extreme caution is required due to the significant entrapment risk. Paddlers must completely portage around this structure, utilizing the river right bank, and never attempt to run or paddle through the dam's hydraulic zone.
