Description

A mere 0.3 miles of flatwater brings you to "Upper Roaring Rapids". At low flows, this will be mostly just avoiding getting broached on rocks ('rock dodging'). At moderate and higher flows, this will be fairly continuous class I-II boulder-garden rapids for nearly a mile. This provides rafters, "IK"ers, and novice paddlers time and opportunity to practice maneuvering their craft before the main action begins.
