The Adrian access site on the Snake River in Malheur County offers a two-lane concrete boat ramp with separate raft launch and takeout facilities, managed by the BLM. The boat ramp is located past the first parking lot, while the raft launch area is situated further downstream near the host site. Note that there is a tight turn required to reach the boat launch, and the current near the ramp can be swift, so exercise caution when maneuvering.
The Snake River at this location is a major waterway with significant flow, averaging nearly 50,000 cubic feet per second. Paddlers should be prepared for roller coaster waves and turbulent water conditions upstream of Adrian. The raft launch area has some erosion on the lower steps, but rafts can launch from either the dedicated raft launch or boat ramp if fully prepared. Watch for underwater hazards near the access point and plan accordingly for the river's powerful current and gradient.
This location serves as a convenient access point within the designated recreation corridor, with camping areas available between nearby Conant and Byington boat ramps. Contact the local BLM office for current conditions, water levels, and any seasonal updates before launching.
