About This Access Site
Captain Clark is a Montana FWP (Fish, Wildlife & Parks) boat launch located on the south bank of the Yellowstone River near Custer in Yellowstone County. The site features a two-wheel-drive vehicle boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats with trailers. This is an open-year access point with easy ADA accessibility, making it a convenient put-in for paddlers exploring this section of the Yellowstone.

The site offers basic amenities including toilet facilities and allows camping with a 7-day stay limit, making it useful for multi-day paddling trips. With good shade and riverside access, Captain Clark serves as a practical staging area for floats downstream.
