About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Carter's Bridge is located in Livingston, Montana, adjacent to the east end of Carter's Bridge on the Yellowstone River. The ramp is situated about 200 yards east where East River Road meets US-89. This is a convenient mid-valley access point between Pine Creek upstream and the 9th Street Bridge downstream.

**Boat Launch Details:** The ramp features a concrete launch pad buried beneath a cobble surface, which is typical for this area. The site accommodates various watercraft including kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The Yellowstone River in this section flows through the scenic Paradise Valley with moderate gradient and summer flows suitable for floating and fishing. The float from Pine Creek to Carter's Bridge is considered a popular scenic and productive fishing section, especially during lower water conditions. Note that high water can create a narrower, faster channel with limited access to side areas.

**Practical Considerations:** This is one of several access points in the Livingston area (others include Grey Owl, Loch Leven, and Pine Creek). Carter's Bridge works well as either a launch or takeout point depending on your planned float. Plan your trip timing around river flows, as the character of the float changes significantly between high and low water periods.
