This boat ramp near Marinette provides convenient access to the scenic Peshtigo River below the town dam. The shallow, sandy character of the river in this section makes it ideal for canoes, kayaks, and small motorboats. A small rugged beach to the south and west of the ramp offers scenic views and wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly for bird watchers. This is an excellent starting point for paddling trips downriver toward the harbor boat launch.
The site works well as either a launch or take-out point, with shuttle options available from here or from another access point located further north on County Highway BB. The Governor Earl Peshtigo River State Forest encompasses over 3,200 acres of water featuring scenic boating and paddling routes, including access to islands and backwaters along the river system. A parking area is available on County Road BB for visitor convenience.
