About This Access Site
Hestness Landing is a popular put-in and take-out point on the North Umpqua River near Roseburg, offering convenient access to one of the region's most-floated river sections. The site features a boat ramp nestled among mature oak trees and serves paddlers, drift boaters, and floaters year-round. The landing is ideally positioned midway through popular float trips, making it an excellent choice for breaking up longer paddles or adjusting your route based on schedule and water conditions.

This section of the North Umpqua River is characterized by a mix of mild rapids and slower-moving water, making it particularly well-suited for summer floats and recreational paddling. Located at the confluence of Calapooya Creek and the Umpqua River, Hestness Landing provides direct access to quality paddling waters.
