Homedale River Park provides public boat access to the Snake River, a major waterway located approximately 4.3 miles downstream of Swan Falls Dam in southwestern Idaho. This access point serves paddlers and boaters exploring the Columbia Plateau region near Homedale in Owyhee County. The launch is free to use and open to the public.
The Snake River at this location is a substantial waterway with significant flow (averaging nearly 50,000 cubic feet per second) and moderate gradient (averaging 15.8 feet per mile). Paddlers should expect a powerful current and plan accordingly for their experience level and vessel type. The river's stream order (9) indicates it is a major river system with considerable water volume.
The surrounding area offers additional recreation opportunities, including Jump Creek (featuring a scenic waterfall and riparian habitat, open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and access to designated camping areas managed by BLM/USFS between nearby boat ramps. Visit Idaho Fish and Game's website for current conditions, regulations, and any updates on facilities at this access site before your visit.
