Poison Creek offers excellent access to Blackfoot Reservoir with two concrete boat ramps, including a double-lane option with accessible boat docks. The facility features large graveled parking areas suitable for trucks and trailers, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and larger boats. A fishing platform with accessible sidewalk access and day-use amenities including a group shelter, picnic tables, and grills make this a well-developed access point.
The site provides good options for paddlers and anglers targeting Yellowstone cutthroat trout and other fish species in the reservoir. For extended trips, a BLM campground with full hook-up sites, restrooms, and additional boat ramp access is located on the southern end of the reservoir via Dike Road. Additional camping options are available at nearby Sage Hen Flats and Cutthroat Trout Campgrounds within 10 miles, as well as along the Blackfoot River corridor where the BLM manages five campgrounds from north to south.
