About This Access Site
River Edge Park in Theresa is one of two official trailheads for the Rock River Water Trail, making it an excellent starting point for paddlers exploring the East Branch. The park features a well-maintained boat/canoe ramp, parking for vehicles and trailers, restrooms, and picnic facilities. The 4-acre park is neatly maintained and provides a reliable launch point for kayakers and canoeists heading downstream.
From this location, paddlers can access the East Branch of the Rock River and connect to the broader Rock River Water Trail system. The park's proximity to Horicon National Wildlife Refuge (33,000+ acres) offers scenic paddling opportunities, though note that the northern unit of Horicon Marsh is off-limits to paddlers per National Wildlife Refuge regulations. Downstream from River Edge Park toward the N. Nebraska Street ramp is approximately 5.6 miles of paddleable water, making this a good staging point for day trips or longer water trail adventures.
