Riverfront Park offers boat access to the Yakima River in Prosser with both a northern parking area featuring a dedicated boat launch and an off-leash dog park. The site provides ample regular parking, though trailer parking is limited. Be aware that the boat ramp is in poor condition with a steep drop-off from the asphalt to the gravel bar, so approach with caution when launching or retrieving vessels. This access point is suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats.
The park features over 2 miles of riverfront trails that parallel the water, making it an excellent base for exploring the Yakima River valley. From here, paddlers can access both upstream and downstream sections of the river. The area also offers dry camping facilities (no water available) and is popular for fly fishing. While the site doesn't have developed amenities, it provides good access to this scenic stretch of the Yakima River and nearby recreation opportunities, including the undeveloped Horse Heaven Hills area popular for hiking and wildlife viewing.
