**Launch Details:** Village Grove Park offers informal water access to the Milwaukee River in Mequon, though there is no developed boat ramp. The access point brings vehicles within approximately 50 feet of the riverbank via grass area, with a clear launch zone along the bank. This site works well for kayaks and canoes, particularly smaller craft that can be hand-launched.
**River Character & Paddling:** The Milwaukee River at this location flows through a densely forested section, creating a scenic paddling experience that feels relatively isolated despite proximity to urban development. From Village Grove Park, paddlers can expect approximately one mile of paddling before encountering the Village Park Boat Landing and its dam downstream. Caution is advised: a previously removed dam site about a mile downstream may still contain debris including rebar and other hazardous remnants that pose a safety risk if paddlers capsize.
**Planning Your Visit:** This is a good launch point for short paddles and exploration of the wooded river corridor. Check current conditions and be aware of any dam structures downstream before paddling. Vehicle parking is available near the launch area. Be prepared for hand-launching rather than using a traditional ramp facility.
