If there is no access at the dam (or even if there is!), an alternative is to access from the interestingly named "Panic Park".Gradient (down to our listed put-in at Hwy.Q) averages somewhat under 10 FPM, and you will encounter mostly good current and occasional class I(II) boulder garden type rapids.
