The FM 766 Bridge provides access to the Guadalupe River in DeWitt County near Cuero. This site serves as a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats exploring this section of the river. The location offers parking and direct water access under or near the bridge structure, making it relatively straightforward for paddlers to put in.
This access point is strategically positioned between upstream sections and downstream take-outs, making it useful for planning multi-segment float trips on the Guadalupe. Paddlers should note that the next significant TPWD lease access point downstream is Rio Guadalupe Resort, approximately 1.6 miles away at the fourth bridge crossing on River Road. Plan accordingly if using this as a launch for longer trips, and be aware that some downstream access sites may require portaging boats from parking areas.
