Summers Park offers a convenient boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats onto the Arkansas River's Robert S. Kerr Reservoir. The ramp provides easy access to this wide, navigable section of the river.
The Arkansas River in this area is part of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, with Webbers Falls Lock and Dam located just a few miles upstream. Paddlers and boaters can explore the broad, deep reservoir waters, which are popular for fishing, cruising, and wildlife viewing. The adjacent Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge also offers opportunities for nature-based recreation.
Facilities at Summers Park include the boat ramp, as well as picnic areas and campsites managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Visitors should check for any access restrictions or fees before launching, as the park is considered part of the larger Tenkiller State Park recreation area.
