About This Access Site
The Hittle Bottom boat ramp on the Colorado River in Utah provides access for kayakers, canoeists, and small to medium-sized motorized boats. Located about 23 miles north of Moab, this concrete ramp is part of the Hittle Bottom Group Campsite, which is reservable through Recreation.gov.

The Colorado River at this access point is a major headwater stream, flowing for over 1,000 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. With an average flow of over 14,000 cubic feet per second and a steep gradient of 8.7 feet per mile, this section of the river is suitable for experienced paddlers and motorized boaters. Hittle Bottom is a popular launching point for the "Moab Daily" float trip down the Colorado.

While the campground has no water available, there are amenities like a picnic shelter and the trailhead for the 3-mile Amphitheater Loop. Nearby recreation areas like Grandstaff Canyon offer additional hiking and exploring opportunities. Paddlers and boaters should come prepared with all necessary supplies, as services may be limited in this remote section of the Colorado River.
