Lathrop Landing is a public boat ramp providing access to the Rogue River near Grants Pass in Josephine County. This launch point offers paddlers and boaters entry to one of Oregon's premier waterways, the Wild & Scenic Rogue River. The landing features a gravel bar for launching, though users should be aware of a large drop-off at the ramp itself—using the gravel bar alternative is recommended. As of September 2025, there is significant tree debris blocking the upstream portion of the left side of the ramp, so plan your approach accordingly.
The Rogue River in this section offers excellent opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. The river's Wild & Scenic designation reflects its outstanding scenic, recreational, and ecological value. Paddlers and anglers will find this a gateway to stunning canyon country with access to numerous recreation areas, including the Rogue Wild & Scenic River corridor and the nearby Mountain of the Rogue Trail System for those combining paddling with hiking or biking adventures. Check current water conditions and seasonal flows before launching, as the Rogue's level and character can vary significantly throughout the year.
